New Albany

In November of 2019, Google officially broke ground on its $600 million data center in New Albany, Ohio. Data centers are what keep the Internet up and running. Once fully operational, our data center will employ a number of people in a variety of full-time and contractor roles, including computer technicians, engineers, and various food services, maintenance, and security roles. New Albany  is our home and we’re committed to playing a positive role in the communities in which we live and work.  As part of our commitment to sustainability, once completed, our New Albany data center will be matched with 100% renewable energy. To date, Google is the largest corporate purchaser of renewable energy in the world.

Since 2019,  Google employees in New Albany have donated over $54,000 in Google-matched giving to nonprofits and schools in areas that we’re passionate about, including STEM education, economic opportunity, and access to the Internet.
